"My room had peeling paint, looked worn and there was dust in the bathtub. The first morning the lock jammed and I was locked IN my room.
On the other side, the staff there are, without excepetion, outstanding. They were friendly without intrusion and met and exceeded all my needs. Good continental breakfast, free local papers. My second day the room was spotless. Perhaps it just had not been used awhile. For my needs, the location was supurb. They could benefit from WiFi access in the rooms. I will use it again."

"Okay, to be honest with you it doesn't look as beautiful as in the picture, and if you're carrying a lot of luggage then forget it-elevators are old and they don't even have someone to help you with your bags. I booked for 9 nights and didn't even stay for 1 - I ran to downtown to look for another place to stay. The neighbourhood is pretty grim, lots of hindu and asian restaurants and shops that looked just so precarious. By the way, I left because of its location, and weird smells (like old food, perhaps?)"

"I have recommended this hotel to others. it was very convenient to the two things I wanted to do most, walk downtown and walk to GM Place. This is the fourth time I have stayed there, and plan to again on my next trip to Vancouver."
